Tuition-based Child Care: Martin Luther King, Jr. Education Center Academy (MLKECA) has a “sister school” Martin Luther King, Jr. Education Center (MLKEC) which offers a tuition- based, full-day childcare for children 2 weeks – four- years- old. MLKEC accepts Department of Human Services (DHS) payments for eligible families. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In addition to the tuition- based infant/toddler and three and four year old programs, the State Department of Education funds the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) which offers a free four- year- old program to families that meet GSRP guidelines. A limited number of slots are available each year.
MLKEC offers before and after school child care, for MLKECA students. Children must be enrolled on a semester basis to attend. The morning session is 7:00 a.m. -8:30 a.m., and the afternoon session is 3:15 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
